Acrobatics, also known to cheerleaders as “stunting,” is a discipline that requires great strength and technique in order to be performed well. In addition, athletes need tremendous flexibility, balance and acrobatic skill.
Our acro classes are ideal for cheerleaders, those interested in expanding into partner or group acrobatics, as well as those already trained in partnering skills and wanting to improve hand-to-hand techniques.
Our Beginner and Advanced Acrobatics classes are fun for participants of any age or athletic ability. Establishing a foundation of partner and group acrobatic fundamentals, students will learn skills that incorporate strength, flexibility, cooperative movement and spacial awareness. You will learn both the elements of balance and dynamic skills: Balance skills consist of static balance elements, intricate pyramids, transitions between balance holds, and individual elements or air positions. Dynamic skills involve inverting and twisting throws with landings on the floor or catches by the base partner(s). Registering with a partner/group is not required.
Classes are based on level and maturity, all ages welcome.
Strength and conditioning classes are highly recommended in addition to this class.
